Black Cutworm
A pesky upper level low pressure system in conjunction with Tropical Storm Arthur off the southeast United States coast will combine to create a rather complicated weather pattern across the corn-growing region this week. The upper level low pressure system is more/less cut-off and will not move much over the next few days, so any prospects for black cutworm migration are greatly limited and only return to the forecast mainly west of the I-35 and US 65/63 corridors from Minnesota south through Iowa into Missouri by late this week. Eventually, a more progressive weather pattern should ensue but until that time, any moth flights should be isolated and mainly focused across the western corn-growing region.
