Black Cutworm
Black cutworm migration risks return to at least a portion of the corn-growing region by late this week into next weekend as south to southwest flow increases ahead of a cold front. The expected weather setup at this time is not expected to be favorable for more scattered or widespread flights given its northwest flow origin, so only Low risks are predicted at this time. Low risks are in the forecast mainly west of Lake Michigan and the I-55 corridor in Illinois Thursday night into Friday and then mainly east of I-35 and west of I-75, or from Missouri, eastern Iowa, and southeast Minnesota as far east as lower Michigan and western Ohio by Friday night into Saturday as the cold front moves east.
