Black Cutworm
Black cutworm migration risks are expected to focus mainly over the southern Great Lakes and eastern corn-growing region in the next 24 hours as a cold front slowly settles to the south and east. South to southwest wind speeds east of the cold front are likely to be much less than the previous few days that had Moderate migration risks, so only Low risks are predicted mainly east of the I-57 corridor. A break in the migration risks is predicted through Friday and into early Saturday, but the next system is already expected to bring risks back to the forecast by Saturday night into Sunday. Low risks in increasing southerly flow are predicted generally along and south of I-90 and then mainly east of I-35 on Sunday night into Monday. It is possible that elevated risks may be introduced to the forecast later this week for the late weekend or early next week time period so stay tuned!
