Alert Details

A strong cold front will move across much of the corn-growing region over the next 24-36 hours. Ahead of this front, gusty south to southwest winds are expected especially east of the Mississippi River later today and into tonight, and these winds may result in some scattered black cutworm moth flights. Moderate migration risks are predicted across eastern Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, and western/central Ohio with Low risks from far eastern Missouri and central Illinois east as far as the Ohio/Pennsylvania region and north into central lower Michigan and portions of southwest Ontario, Canada, as well. Once this front moves through, little to no migration risk is predicted for the balance of the week as northwest flow locks back in place.
