Black Cutworm
Black cutworm risks are not expected to return to the forecast until late this week when a new low pressure system develops in the Plains and moves slowly east and northeast into the Great Lakes region by the weekend. Southerly winds are expected to increase ahead of this low and Low migration risks are in the forecast mainly from eastern Kansas, far eastern Nebraska, and southeast South Dakota as far east as western Indiana and Lake Michigan Friday night into Saturday and then as far east as the I-75 corridor in eastern lower Michigan and western Ohio by Saturday night into Sunday. This system, at least right now, does not appear to be as strong as the one that passed through over the weekend so risks are lower, but we will continue to monitor.
