Black Cutworm
Black cutworm migration risks return to the forecast by Saturday night into Sunday as the weather pattern across the corn-growing region transitions to a more zonal or even southwest flow from the present northwesterly flow. Southerly winds on the west side of an eastward-advancing high pressure system may allow for some isolated moth flights mainly west of Lake Michigan by Saturday night into Sunday. Migration risks may extend as far east as lower Michigan and western Ohio Sunday night into Monday as a corridor of fairly persistent south to southwest winds and much warmer temperatures sets up across the eastern two-thirds or so of the corn-growing region.
