Black Cutworm
Low black cutworm migration risks are predicted to the east of a cold front that is likely to move from west to east across much of the corn-growing region over the next 24-36 hours. South to southwest winds are likely to be present east of the front, and with at least scattered precipitation possible near and ahead of the frontal passage, some insect drop-out could result at least in isolated areas. Low risks mainly focus along/east of the I-35 corridor from eastern Kansas into Missouri, eastern Iowa, far southeast Minnesota, and as far east as southern lower Michigan and into western Ohio and Kentucky. Little to no risk is predicted once this front passes to the east for the balance of the week and into next weekend, and likely beyond, as northwest flow locks in which should keep any migration activity very limited, if at all.
