Black Cutworm
Low black cutworm migration risks have been introduced to the forecast on Saturday and Sunday nights mainly from eastern Kansas, Nebraska, and far southeast South Dakota east as far as western/central Indiana as a weak low pressure system develops in the central Plains region. Some southerly wind flow is expected east of this system, and isolated moth flights may occur from mid-south source regions. Growers are encouraged to continue monitoring traps and especially scouting fields where corn is emerging as moth flights earlier this spring may have been rather heavy in some areas, and scattered pressure is probable in these regions.
