Alert Details

Southwest winds are predicted to focus across southeast and eastern Texas into far western Louisiana later today into tonight as a deep low pressure system churns across the northern Plains. These winds may provide an isolated black cutworm threat for any migrating cutworms flying north from source regions in northeast Mexico and deep southern Texas tonight into tomorrow morning. Earliest-planted corn fields may be at risk once emergence occurs after enough heat units have accumulated in the coming weeks. Otherwise, no additional risks are predicted due to unfavorable and/or light wind flow for the remainder of the week.
