Black Cutworm
Black cutworm migration risks return to the forecast by this upcoming weekend as another wound-up storm system traverses the corn-growing region. At this point, Low risks are in place from eastern Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota as far east as lower Michigan, Kentucky, and western Ohio beginning Saturday night and continuing into Sunday night and Monday morning. This system does look to be in a weakening phase once we head into early next week, so migration risks will be greater initially versus later on in the event. Risk upgrades especially west of Lake Michigan are probable later this week especially once confidence increases in placement of where stronger winds are most likely for the longest time.
