Black Cutworm
Another fairly strong but quick-moving weather system is expected to impact much of the corn-growing region this weekend and into early next week before weakening and departing to the east. Effects from the strong system that has affected the central and eastern United States all of this week will linger, so there are concerns that black cutworm migration risks will be short-lived this weekend. Nonetheless, a good push of southerly winds is expected to the east of low pressure in the High Plains, and Low migration risks extend from eastern Kansas, eastern Nebraska, and even as far north as eastern South Dakota eastward into the southern Great Lakes and eastern corn-growing region from Saturday night into Sunday and also Sunday night into Monday before the system departs.
