Black Cutworm
Low black cutworm migration risks are back in the forecast by Saturday night into Sunday as south to southwest winds increase especially across the southeastern half or so of the corn-growing region. There is still some uncertainty in the exact track of a weather system expected to move through the area this weekend or early next week, but there is enough confidence to include a risk even at this time distance. The primary risk area is mainly southeast of a line from near Springfield, Missouri to Chicago, Illinois. It appears that a weather system next week may pose a greater risk for migration at that time, so we will continue to monitor and update later in the week or next week regarding that system.
