Black Cutworm
Low black cutworm migration risks are predicted as early as Sunday night mainly to the west of the Great Lakes region as a low pressure system organizes in the central and High Plains region. South to southwest winds are expected to increase and may pose an isolated black cutworm migration risk from Texas northward. Low risks then shift east as a cold front moves east for Monday night into Tuesday, with Low risks as far east as the I-75 corridor in Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky. Growers should continue trapping/heat unit accumulation procedures but more importantly scouting efforts especially in those fields that have newly-emerged corn.
