Alert Details

A complex and somewhat active weather pattern is expected over a good portion of the corn-growing region in the next 4-5 days. Overall, however, any given low pressure system is not expected to be particularly strong, especially in comparison to some in the last month or so. As a result, black cutworm migration risks are being kept in the Low category given expected weaker wind flow. Low risks are predicted tomorrow night into Sunday mainly along/west of the I-35 corridor with the risk then focusing along/east of I-35 from late Sunday into Tuesday of next week until a cold front moves through the area. Primarily isolated moth flights look probable at this time and growers with late or re-planted crops are encouraged to continue trapping/scouting efforts until the threat has passed.
