Black Cutworm
A strong low pressure system and attendant cold front will move through the eastern corn-growing region over the next 24 hours or so. Continued southerly winds will be present east of the front, but an increasing coverage of showers/thunderstorms in this area as well as further south in the insect source region of the lower Mississippi Valley may limit the overall extent of black cutworm migration later tonight into early tomorrow morning. Nonetheless, Low migration risks are predicted generally along/east of the I-57 corridor with greater risks east of the I-69 corridor in southeast lower Michigan, southern Ontario, Canada, and further south into Ohio and central/eastern Kentucky. Little to no migration risk is predicted for the balance of the week and into the weekend, and likely beyond, once this system departs.
