Black Cutworm
Southwest winds to the east of a cold front are expected to persist tonight into at least a portion of tomorrow until the front clears the corn-growing region by late Friday or Friday night. Showers and thunderstorms east of the front, however, may limit the overall migration risk in some areas but the strength of the southwest winds may still allow for some isolated flights to occur. As a result, Low risks are being continued in the forecast for tonight into at least the first part of tomorrow from eastern Missouri, Illinois, and far southeast Wisconsin and points eastward. Growers should be scouting fields regularly especially with a larger percentage of corn now emerging and at critical stages with respect to potential black cutworm cutting potential.
