Corn Earworm
Corn earworm migration risks are predicted to be limited to the western and southwestern portion of the corn-growing region primarily late in the week and next weekend as northwest flow behind a departing cold front takes hold for much of this week. Some return southerly wind flow ahead of a developing low pressure system east of the Front Range of the Rockies should allow at least isolated corn earworm migration risks to return to Kansas, Nebraska, far western Iowa, and western Missouri by as early as Wednesday night into Thursday with the risk continuing into the weekend, but overall the threat is in the Low category at this time as the source region is in Texas and Oklahoma versus further east across more active mid-south regions.
