Alert Details

A weak cold front is expected to pass through the corn-growing region early-mid next week. A brief period of southwesterly winds is anticipated ahead of the front, and some corn earworm moths may migrate during this time period from source regions in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Low migration risks are predicted Monday night into Tuesday from Kansas and Missouri northeast as far as southeast Minnesota and southern Wisconsin and east into Illinois. Otherwise, little to no migration risk is predicted given dominant northwest flow across much of the region.
