Alert Details

A rather stagnant weather pattern is predicted to hold across much of the corn-growing region for the next week, although there are potential signs that a more progressive or at least slightly higher amplitude flow may develop by mid-late next week. If this were to occur, Low corn earworm migration risks would be possible as early as Tuesday night into Wednesday mainly west of the Mississippi River and south of I-90 as southerly flow increases ahead of a developing low pressure system and cold front across the Plains states. Source region host plants, including corn, continue to be more favorable hosts at this point so any flights further north should be isolated and generally low in count as has been observed at many locations in recent weeks.
