Corn Earworm
Low corn earworm migration risks are predicted tonight into tomorrow morning from Kansas northeast into eastern Nebraska, far eastern/southeastern South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, western Indiana, and far southwest lower Michigan as a cold front moves southeast. South to southwest winds east of the front are present but are not overly strong so only Low risks are predicted at this time. Early pollinating field corn, sweet corn, and other processing/fresh market/garden growers with crops at susceptible stages to corn earworm damage should monitor traps and scout fields to determine if local populations may exist. Little to no migration risk is predicted for the remainder of the week and into the weekend as northwest flow is expected to dominate the weather pattern, but some moths may still be present or appear in traps so continued monitoring/scouting is encouraged.
