Alert Details

The combination of increasing southerly winds, favorable crop stage, and precipitation associated with a cold front continues to support a Moderate corn earworm migration risk tonight into tomorrow across portions of eastern South Dakota, northern Nebraska, northern Iowa, and Minnesota with Low risks as far east as Lake Michigan and into Illinois. Moderate risks continue in the forecast tomorrow night into Sunday as a cold front moves southeast into the upper Mississippi River valley. The Moderate risk area tomorrow night is found across Iowa, southeast Minnesota, Wisconsin, and into Illinois. Low risks extend as far east as lower Michigan and southern Ontario, Canada and Ohio. Little to no risk is predicted early next week as northwest flow returns to much of the corn-growing region, but growers especially along/north of I-80 are strongly encouraged to scout fields and monitor traps heading into next week as additional corn earworm moth captures are probable.
