Corn Earworm
Low pressure is expected to begin organizing in the High Plains late this week, with a trailing cold front eventually predicted to push east across the corn-growing region during the weekend and early next week. A period of southerly winds is expected to the east of the cold front, so Low migration risks are in the forecast beginning Thursday night across areas mainly west of I-35 with the risk then spreading east to near Lake Michigan and into Illinois Friday night into Saturday. Low risks then focus between I-35 and I-75 Saturday night into Sunday. The duration and strength of these southerly winds will need to be monitored throughout this week for possible risk upgrades and/or adjustments to the expected risk area.
