Alert Details

A strong cold front is still expected to push through all of the corn-growing region late this weekend and early next week. Ahead of the front, however, a fairly robust yet brief period of south to southwest winds is expected. These winds may result in some isolated corn earworm moth flights especially west of Lake Michigan tomorrow night into Sunday and then mainly across the southern Great Lakes and eastern corn-growing region Sunday night into Monday as the front pushes through. Little to no risk is predicted for much of next week as the first real taste of autumn cool weather and northerly winds will keep any traditional south to north migration chances in check.
