Corn Earworm
Low corn earworm migration risks return to the forecast next Monday night into Tuesday across a portion of the northern Plains and northern corn-growing region ahead of a sharp cold front passage. The window of time for a potential isolated migration risk is small, but southerly winds should be rather gusty and some short-distance migration events will be possible into northern Nebraska, South Dakota, southeast North Dakota, Minnesota, northern Iowa, and into northwest Wisconsin. Fresh market and processing growers especially in the northern corn-growing region should continue to monitor traps and scout fields as some late season moth arrivals may still occur given the predicted weather pattern over the next few weeks.
