Corn Earworm
A cold front is expected to move across the northern and eastern corn-growing region early-mid next week. South to southwest winds between this front and high pressure in the eastern corn-growing region may lead to some isolated corn earworm moth flights into remaining fresh market and processing fields especially across northeast Nebraska, eastern South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, northern Iowa, and into northwest Illinois both on Saturday night and also Sunday night this weekend. Once the front clears the region, little to no risk is anticipated next week but growers with crops at susceptible stages to corn earworm damage should continue to monitor until harvest is complete.
