Alert Details

A weak cool front is still expected to push through at least the northern portion of the corn-growing region by this weekend. Ahead of the front, south to southwest winds will be present but are not expected to be very strong. Precipitation near the front is likely to be isolated/scattered in nature, so any migration risk looks to be pretty limited at this point. Still, Low migration risks are predicted generally west of an Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Springfield, Missouri line tonight into tomorrow, and then generally west of Lake Michigan and the I-55 corridor through central Illinois and southeast Missouri tomorrow night into Saturday. Little to no risk is currently predicted thereafter, but growers with crops at susceptible stages to damage are encouraged to monitor traps and scout fields as some new moth flights may still occur.
