Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks are predicted tomorrow night into Wednesday mainly across the Plains states from Kansas north into Nebraska, South Dakota, and far southern North Dakota. A low pressure system and attendant cold front are expected to begin pushing southeast into this region by that time, and may lead to some isolated moth flights from source regions in Texas and Oklahoma. Low risks continue in the forecast mainly from Kansas and Missouri north into Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois Wednesday night into Thursday ahead and near the same front as it moves southeast. Wind flow is expected to be mainly weak in nature which precludes higher risks at this point. Growers with crops at susceptible stages to damage should continue monitoring traps and scouting fields as new flights have been reported but mainly on an isolated basis in the past few weeks.
