As the weather pattern transitions from northwesterly to southwesterly, corn earworm migration possibilities will increase by especially the 3-5 day period.  Low risks are in place as early as Day 2 across Kansas and Missouri and then expand north and east into Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, and even western Indiana by the end of the five day period.  With several nights of persistent south to southwest winds blowing north from source regions in northern Texas and southern Oklahoma, a Moderate risk of corn earworm migration has been hoisted for areas in Kansas and western Missouri by Day 5.  Monitor subsequent forecasts for the latest updates on this migration risk for next week.
