Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks remain in the forecast especially late week and into portions of the weekend and early next week as a late-season, favorable weather pattern for at least isolated, shorter-distance flights remains in place. Low risks are predicted from eastern Nebraska into southeast South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, northern Illinois, Wisconsin, and into portions of northern Indiana and southwest lower Michigan Thursday night into Friday. Additional Low risks are predicted mainly west of Lake Michigan from late Saturday into at least Monday ahead of a potentially stronger cold front at that time. The only concerns at this point are with processing and fresh market growers mainly in the northern corn-growing region. These growers should continue trapping and scouting efforts until harvest.
