Corn Earworm

Affected Area:

Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks are in the forecast beginning Sunday and continuing into Tuesday as a cold front moves southeast across the corn-growing region. South to southwest winds east of the front may allow for some isolated moth flights into Kansas, eastern Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, far southern Minnesota, southwest Wisconsin, and Illinois during this time. While many field crops are not at a susceptible stage to damage as of right now, there may be some fresh market and garden/vegetable crops that are and may serve as local hosts/feeding sites. Growers are encouraged to monitor traps and scout fields as some corn earworm flights have been observed in the past few weeks.
