Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks have been introduced to the forecast Thursday night into Friday as southerly winds are expected to be rather persistent across portions of the Plains and western/central corn-growing region mainly west of the Mississippi River. A deteriorating corn crop in Texas may also signal some corn earworm moth movement north a little sooner than usual either due to less desirable and/or more advanced crop growth in southern Plains source regions, as well. Both field and fresh market/produce growers should be on the alert for new corn earworm moths across portions of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, and Minnesota late week and beyond.
