Corn Earworm
Corn earworm migration risks re-enter the forecast by late week and into next weekend with the next respectable southerly wind regime ahead of a potential cold front by that time. There is still some uncertainty in the exact timing of this front, but for now Low migration risks are in the forecast from Friday into Saturday mainly west of Lake Michigan. Growers with crops at susceptible stages to corn earworm damage are encouraged to continue scouting efforts and monitor traps as some isolated moth flights have occurred in some areas in the past several weeks.
