Alert Details

High pressure and dominant northwest flow is expected to influence the weather across much of the corn-growing region this week. By late week and beyond, however, the overall weather pattern may shift to more zonal or even southwesterly, with more opportunity for corn earworm moth flights. Low risks are back in the forecast by late Friday into Saturday mainly west of I-35 as this potential shift in the weather pattern takes place. Despite the lack of risk in the short term, growers are encouraged to continue monitoring traps and scout fields as numerous corn-growing region traps have shown increases in the past week, and new larvae are either present or are expected to appear in the coming weeks.
