Alert Details

With dominant northwest flow in place across much of the corn-growing region, opportunities for corn earworm migration appear limited the next five days. There is a Low risk in the forecast mainly west of Lake Michigan and I-57 in eastern Illinois next Monday night into Tuesday, but the duration for any migration appears rather short and any flights should be isolated. Despite the lack of current migration risks, growers with crops susceptible to corn earworm damage (especially fresh market and processing growers) should continue trapping efforts and regular scouting as new moths as well as larvae may be present in the same area, either from flights in late July/early August or recent flights in the last week to ten days.
