Corn Earworm
Low corn earworm migration risks continue in the forecast later this week as southerly winds remain more strongly focused across the Plains states but also further east into the western/central corn-growing region mainly west of the Mississippi River. Very warm to hot conditions will be accompanied by occasionally gusty southerly winds which may lead to some isolated corn earworm moth flights mainly across the Plains states but especially in the Thursday-Friday timeframe, some flights may occur further east, as well. By the weekend, however, the pattern is expected to break down or weaken, and any migration risks are expected to be pretty limited to none by that time given weaker southerly winds.
