Corn Earworm
A weak cold front and associated low pressure system are expected to track through the corn-growing region late week and into next weekend. East of the cold front, modest south to southwest winds are likely and may produce isolated corn earworm moth flights Thursday night into Friday especially across Kansas into far southern Nebraska and western Missouri. Additional isolated moth flights are possible further east into Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and southern lower Michigan Friday night into Saturday. Fresh market and produce growers should be especially advised for this risk as many other crops are not at susceptible stages to damage as of yet, so isolated feeding may occur in those fields that are vulnerable and attractive at this time.
