Corn Earworm
A strong cold front is likely to move east across the corn-growing region over the next 24-36 hours. East of the front, south to southwest winds are likely to be gusty and may lead to some isolated corn earworm migration especially in the eastern portion of the corn-growing region. While there is little to no threat to field or sweet corn at this time, there may be some fresh market, vegetable, and garden growers that could potentially be impacted. If nothing else, some moths may find suitable hosts and result in new generations later in the growing season that could cause damage at that time. Any corn earworm moth flights should be documented as to severity and location in the next week or so.
