Alert Details

After a night of no risk due to a lack of southerly winds, a Low corn earworm migration risk returns to the picture for Friday night into Saturday and also Saturday night into Sunday as the next weather system moves into the corn-growing region. This is expected to be a quick moving system and southerly winds in advance of a cold front are not predicted to be overly strong, so only Low risks are predicted at this time. The risk area tomorrow night includes fields south of I-90 and west of US 71/65 with the risk shifting east into the heart of the corn-growing area across Iowa and Illinois and points southwest. No risk is predicted thereafter due to a lack of southerly winds and high pressure building into the Plains states.
