Alert Details

Corn earworm migration risks are predicted especially across the Plains states and east into a portion of the corn-growing region including Minnesota, western Iowa, and far northwest Missouri as south to southwest winds originating in Texas increase to the east of a developing low pressure system. This Low risk area shifts east later in the weekend and early next week to mainly focus between I-35 and I-75. While there is little to no threat to field corn at this point, this risk is mainly focused at fresh market and garden growers that may have some vegetables entering into critical growth stages or that could serve as suitable hosts for new corn earworm migrants from southern state source regions.
