Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks extend from eastern Kansas and Nebraska as far east as western Ohio, Kentucky, and lower Michigan tonight into tomorrow as a low pressure system and cold front begin moving east from the Plains states. A more favorable corridor for migration exists especially on either side of the Mississippi River, but rather weak winds precludes a higher risk at this time in addition to crop stage. Low risks then focus east of I-57 tomorrow night into Wednesday as the cold front moves east. Fresh market and garden/produce growers should monitor traps and scout those crops as these would be the ones most at risk given the less advanced stage of field and sweet corn at this time.
