Corn Earworm
Low corn earworm migration risks are in the forecast for the next three nights especially to the east of a southeastward-advancing cold front where south to southwest winds may lead to some isolated moth flights. Low risks start out tonight into tomorrow across the Plains states and western corn-growing region, primarily west of the Mississippi River, with the risk then spreading east as far as the western Great Lakes and into the I-55 and I-57 corridors in Illinois tomorrow night into Saturday. By late Saturday and into Sunday, Low risks then shift into the southern Great Lakes and eastern/southeastern corn-growing region as the cold front pushes on southeast. Growers with crops at susceptible stages to corn earworm damage are encouraged to monitor/scout those crops as any flights may be locally intense especially if those are some of the few crops present that corn earworms would be attracted to.
