Corn Earworm
Low corn earworm migration risks are predicted tomorrow night into Friday as another low pressure system develops in the Plains and sends a cold front through the corn-growing region this weekend. South winds are expected to increase east of this developing low pressure system in the Dakotas, so Low risks initially focus mainly along/west of the I-39/US 51 corridor from central Wisconsin and Illinois westward tomorrow night into Friday. As the cold front moves southeast, the migration risk goes with it for Friday night into Saturday. Low risks focus mainly south of a line from near Wichita, Kansas to north of Chicago, Illinois. Growers with crops near or at susceptible stages to corn earworm damage are encouraged to monitor traps and scout fields.
