Corn Earworm
A cold front is predicted to move southeast through the corn-growing region over the next 24-36 hours. To the southeast of the front, a corridor of south to southwest winds may lead to some isolated moth flights overnight tonight into tomorrow morning mainly southeast of a line from near Wichita, Kansas to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Not much activity is expected over the weekend, but Low risks are back in the forecast by early next week with the next weather system – Low risks are in place mainly west of Lake Michigan Monday night into Tuesday. Growers with crops at susceptible stages to corn earworm damage should continue monitoring traps and scouting fields as numerous flights have been observed in the past few weeks.
