Corn Earworm
Corn earworm migration risks return to the forecast by late week and into next weekend mainly west of I-35 as southerly winds increase in advance of the next weather system and cold front. Low risks are in the forecast at this time and we will continue to monitor conditions as the week goes on. Corn crops are maturing across southern source regions, so corn earworm moths will begin moving north to find fresh food/water sources in the coming weeks to month or so. Growers are encouraged to continue monitoring traps and scouting susceptible fields as some scattered flights have occurred especially earlier in the month.
