Corn Earworm
A cold front is expected to move southeast through much of the corn-growing region over the next day or so. East of the front, southerly winds are expected but they are likely not going to be as robust as the past few nights across the western and central corn-growing region. As a result, only Low corn earworm migration risks are in the forecast tonight into tomorrow mainly along/east of the I-35 corridor from eastern Kansas into Missouri and Iowa and southeast Minnesota, and as far east as southern Ontario, Canada, Ohio, and Kentucky. Little to no migration risk is predicted after tomorrow, but growers should continue to monitor traps and scout fields as some flights have been observed recently. There is still some uncertainty in the forecast by the weekend and early next week, so stay tuned for potential forecast changes.
