Alert Details

A cold front will continue to move southeast through the corn-growing region over the next 24-36 hours. South to southwest winds will continue east of the front, and precipitation may serve as insect drop-zones for any migrating corn earworm moths from mid-south and southern states source regions. Given crop stage and time of year, only Low risks are predicted at this time mainly east of a line from Springfield, Missouri to Chicago, Illinois, but growers should monitor traps and also any host plants for signs of new moths in the coming week. Otherwise, little to no migration risk is predicted once this front moves through for the rest of the week and into next weekend.
