Alert Details

Corn earworm migration risks will continue in the forecast tonight into tomorrow especially east of a cold front and more widespread precipitation along/east of the front in more uninterrupted south to southwest winds. Low risks are predicted mainly from Missouri, eastern Iowa, and southeast Wisconsin east into the southern Great Lakes and eastern corn-growing region during this time. While there is little threat to any crops at this point, growers should be advised that these early migrating moths can produce new generations later in the growing season when crops will be at susceptible stages to damage, so monitoring flights now is still important. Moths have already been documented in some areas this growing season, so remaining vigilant with this insect may be important this year.
