Corn Earworm
A cold front associated with a pretty potent low pressure system will move through the corn-growing region over the next 24 hours. This system should bring some severe storms along and southeast of the cold front from Missouri northeast as far as southern lower Michigan and points southeast later today into tonight. South to southwest winds are likely to focus further southeast from these storms and the front, and this region is where some isolated corn earworm moth migration events may occur. The system appears to be moving slightly quicker that previously predicted, so it appears the better chances for any moth migration will be along/south of I-44 in Missouri and along/south of I-70 in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Best chances appear to focus south of this interstate and along the Ohio River valley. Once this front passes, little to no risk of additional migration is currently predicted into the weekend but we will need to monitor a potential weekend system for possible inclusion of a new migration risk.
