Alert Details

A return to the heat and humidity is expected for at least a portion of the corn-growing region as we head into potentially as early as the upcoming weekend but more likely by next week. The heat and humidity is fueled by increasing southerly winds which are also favorable for corn earworm migration possibilities. As a result, Low corn earworm migration risks have been introduced to the forecast especially along/west of I-35 in the Plains and portions of the western/central corn-growing region by early next week. Growers should continue to monitor forecasts as both an increase in the risk area and potential risk level are very possible as we head into next week.
