Moderate corn earworm migration risks are predicted tonight into tomorrow across portions of Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri as south to southwest winds persist in this region to the east of a cold front. Low risks extend as far east as southwest lower Michigan, Indiana, and western Kentucky but the overall better setup for any potential migration looks to remain west of the Great Lakes and especially west of the Mississippi River. As the cold front settles southeast later tomorrow into Saturday, the Moderate risk shifts east, as well, and includes portions of Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, southwest lower Michigan, and into Indiana. The overall weather pattern becomes messier later in the weekend and into early next week, as a battle between high pressure in the Great Lakes fights a building heat dome across portions of the southwestern Plains and potentially into the southwestern corn-growing region. The inclusion of some risk is possible across the southwestern corn-growing region by early next week, but uncertainty is too high risk now to include a risk. Stay tuned for the latest updates!
